Hey Everyone!
I'm new here, and new to Arch in particular, so hello and nice to meet you all!
I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience and tips on how to get hybrid intel/nvidia graphics working properly on arch with MSI Pulse 17 B13VGK gaming laptops?
I've had a read around online and it seems to be outdated guides, and more so related to Xorg.
I don't necessarily want to use this laptop to game on Arch, but more for programming and general use, tinkering etc - my browser really lags, especially when typing like now, so im wondering what people do for hybrid control these days.
If anyone has any advice, or links to a guide, that would be awesome!

Ans: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/NVIDIA
yes it's the ans , being archlinux user u have to read wiki , and documation , the one and only solution of every arch linux problem's.
so ur new user that's why i help u , next time read the wiki, documation carefully ![]()
1st: igpu u have intel
Required Intel iGPU Packages (Arch Linux)
Install: sudo pacman -S mesa vulkan-intel lib32-mesa lib32-vulkan-intel
What Each Package Does?
mesa
OpenGL driver for Intel GPU
Required for Wayland
vulkan-intel
Vulkan driver for Intel
Needed for Vulkan apps & games
lib32-vulkan-intel
Needed for Steam / Proton / Wine (32-bit apps)
***You DO NOT Need
xf86-video-intel → Not needed for Wayland
Old Intel DDX drivers → Not needed
Any extra kernel module → Already in kernel
Modern Intel drivers are built into Linux kernel (i915).
2nd: dgpu nvidia
Code name Official Name Nvidia 3D object codename
NV190 GeForce RTX 4070 Ada Lovelace it's ur card model?
your card supported drivers:
Turing (NV160/TUXXX) through
Ada Lovelace (NV190/ADXXX) Supported both by: 1.nvidia-open with no RTD3 Power Management on Turing2, ( driver package is inside arch extra repo) only work on linux kernal
possible crashes on Ampere-equiped laptops2
2.nvidia-580xx-dkmsAUR (need to install from AUR) work on :linux or linux-zen
i will suggest choose 2 one it's have power management but it's not a opensource way .
i wish u will understand how to do ,or setup , idk it will help u or not , if u want any help u can reach me on email. sum@sumone.me

sum, thanks for the reply - I really appreciate you taking the time to write back to me.
I have a bit of time later today to have a play around, and ill read the link you sent me.
I was using nvidia-open package and thats what ive been having problems using, so ill also try running the other package that you suggested for sure.
I'll follow what you said and let you know how i get one xD
